Rochester is a city located in Monroe, New York. The city is one of the metropolitan cities of the United States and advanced infrastructure and facilities are available over there. The traditions and the cultural aspects are greatly focused in Rochester. For focusing on the culture, a number of cultural institutions have been opened in Rochester like Gath Fagan Dance, Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Museum & Science Center and George Eastman House International etc.Interestingly, Geva Theater Center is the largest professional theater of Rochester NY. Every year about 10,000 visitors come on the festival and about 400 varieties of the lilacs are presented in the festival.
Although Rochester NY is a metropolitan city, still there is historical architecture and artwork promoted in the city. The major cultural of the city is represented by Genesee Country Village and Museum. The best thing about this village is that it preserves the local architecture and other old traditions like carriage museums. In addition to the preservation of the cultural values, festivals are also organized in the city. Some of the famous festivals celebrated in Rochester NY are Jazz Festival, Com Hill Festival, Clothesline art festivals, Lilac Festival and many others. The accent spoken in Rochester NY is a form of Inland Northern American English. This accent resembles the accent of Chicago or Detroit. Moreover, because of the huge diversity in the city, the language and accent of the people differ greatly.
